The Night Manager Web Series Review: Hindi web series based on the popular novel 'The Night Manager' is being streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar by the same name. It stars Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead roles. This story of espionage, love, and betrayal, from the direction, and screenplay to the acting, comes true on every scale.
Like Hindi films, the production of such web series has started on a large scale, which are Hindi adaptations of one or the other famous international shows. For the first time, the adaptation of a foreign show was aired on Doordarshan. At that time Pankaj Kapur and Viju Khote starrer 'Zabaan Sambhal Ke' (1993-1994) started airing, which was a Hindi adaptation of the British show 'Mind Your Language'. After this, with the expansion of OTT, a large number of such web series started being made.
In this case, Netflix and Disney Plus Hotstar are leading compared to other OTT platforms. Viewers also like such a series very much. Web series like 'Arya' (Dutch series Penoza), Criminal Justice (British series), Hostages (Israeli series), Out of Love (British series Doctor Foster), and 'Class' (Spanish series Elite) are prime examples of this.
In this episode, a new web series 'The Night Manager' is being streamed on the OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar, which is based on the popular novel 'The Night Manager' by John Le Carre. The show was first produced in Britain in the year 2016 on this novel, which was broadcast on BBC. After this, the adaptation of this series took place in many languages across the world. Now it has also been made in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Directed by Sandeep Modi and Priyanka Ghosh, the series features Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Tilottama Shome, Sobhita Dhulipala, Shashwat Chatterjee, and Ravi Behl in the lead roles. Its screenplay and dialogues have been written by Sridhar Raghavan, Akshat Ghildiyal, and Shantanu Srivastava. With strong performances by Anil Kapoor, Shashwat Chatterjee, Tilottama Shome, and Shobhita Dhulipala, this series lives up to its standards.
From direction to writing, every department has done its job well. Only one thing knocks that in this series of four episodes, half the story has been told, and a half has been saved for the next season. The first episode starts with a slow pace, but as the series progresses, the mystery and thrill start deepening. A night manager turns detective and breaks into the fort of the world's most dangerous mafia don.
Seeing the innocent love between the world of Jarayam gives relief, while the spirit of a soldier who is ready to die for a nation at all times creates enthusiasm. To say this is a Hindi adaptation of a foreign series, but the trio of Sridhar, Akshat, and Shantanu have molded it in the Indian environment in such a way that it does not appear that one is watching a series based on an English novel.
At the center of the story of the web series 'The Night Manager' is Aditya Roy Kapur's character Shaan Sengupta. Shaan has been a lieutenant in the Navy but is currently working as a night manager in a luxury hotel in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Protests take place in Dhaka against the genocide and exodus of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. Meanwhile, while taking care of his guest, Shaan notices a girl who is staying with a lady in the most luxurious room of that hotel.

Safina, 14, is the third wife of Dhaka's richest man. One day that girl proudly pleads for help. He tells that is a resident of Lucknow, but was forcibly brought here after marrying her. Her husband physically abuses her by keeping her in a hotel. Not only this, but he also smuggles illegal weapons.
Safina sends a video to Shaan, which contains evidence against her husband. Shaan sends him to one of his friends, Lipika Saikia Rao (Tilottama Shome), who is an officer in RAW. He also asks him for help in getting Safina out of Bangladesh. Lipika asks Safina and Shaan to hide so that she can reach Dhaka the next day and bring them to India. But their conversation gets leaked. Safina's husband comes to know about her hiding place. Those people kill Safina.
All this happens in front of Shaan's eyes. He is unable to tolerate this incident. Thinking himself guilty, he plans to take revenge. Meanwhile, he comes to know that the real mastermind of the massacre is Shelly i.e. Shailendra Rungta (Anil Kapoor), who smuggles illegal weapons across the world. But does the business of shipping show off? Shaan makes a move to make the team in style. Will the trick be successful, will Shaan be able to take revenge, to know will have to watch the web series.
Like some of the best web series in the past, the casting of 'The Night Manager' is strong. Every artist fits in his character. Many artists have done amazing work. In this, apart from Anil Kapoor, the names of Tilottama Shome, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Shashwat Chatterjee are noteworthy. Tilottama Shome has done a brilliant job in the role of RAW officer Lipika Rao. Shobhita Dhulipala is attractive in the role of Kaveri, the girlfriend of illegal arms dealer Shaili Rungta.
Aditya Roy Kapur may have done an average job as the night manager Shan Sengupta, but whenever Shashwat Chatterjee (Bridge's character) comes in the frame with him, he manages to tie the knot. Anil Kapoor in his character reminds us of Brijnath, the character of the film 'Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol' released 12 years ago. Apart from these, experienced characters like Bhagwati Perumal, Joy Sengupta, Jagdish Rajpurohit, Vikram Kapadia, Ravi Behl, and Rukhsar Rahman have also done justice to their respective characters. Overall, this is a web series worth watching. Can binge-watch it.
